Frequently Asked Questions

Prosthetic dental treatment

This choice is determined by the position of the tooth in the mouth, your aesthetic expectation and your budget.

  • Zirconium: It is very durable and aesthetic, suitable for both front and back teeth. Especially on long bridges, it stands out with its durability.

  • E-Max (full porcelain): It is the most aesthetic material with the highest light transmittance. It is generally preferred in single dental veneers and anterior region teeth where aesthetics is very important.

  • Metal-supported porcelain: It is a very durable and more economical option. However, since there is the potential to make a gray reflection on the gingiva edge, it may not be the first choice in the front regions where the aesthetic expectation is high. Your doctor will recommend you the most suitable material after your examination.

Although the process of getting used to moving dentures varies from person to person, it is usually a few weeks lasts. In the early days, it is normal to experience a feeling of alienation in the mouth, increase in saliva, and slight difficulties in speaking and getting some tastes. Reading a loud book will speed up your chewing, while eating soft foods with small bites will speed up your chewing. In this process, it is very important to be patient and go to your doctor for a check-up for the places that make a dent in the denture.

Maintenance of dentures depends on the type.

  • Fixed dentures (crown-bridge): It should be brushed and flossed like your own natural teeth. It is critical to use special under-bridge dental floss or mouth showers (water flosser) to clean the bottom of the bridges.

  • Moving dentures: It should be removed after each meal and cleaned with water. At least once a day, instead of normal toothpaste, it should be brushed with special prosthetic cleaning pastes and a prosthetic brush. At night, it should be removed and kept in a container filled with water or in special solutions.
